Kinah‘s piece is an evening gown inspired by Natalie Daratony’s artwork, and is modeled by Danavia C. Huntley. For Kinah, flowers inspire. Something about a flower's process of growing from a bud and blooming through different seasons reminds Kinah of the art journey of how we consistently grow and advance to new heights.

The denim details showcasing the medium that she works with. Denim and its durability remind Kinah that we can sustain and remain strong through all of life’s ups and downs. Denim is such a sustainable and timeless fabric - it only gets better and softer with time.

Meet the Designer:

Our next featured artist is Kinah Williams. A Charlotte native, Kinah got into design because of her grandmother. She always admired her grandmother's sewing and developed a love for her sewing machine. Eventually it led Kinah to further her education in fashion design.

After getting her degree, Kinah started in the industry doing alterations for a retail company, helping her perfect her craft. She built a brand called The Kinah, created with style and recycled materials. She learned that 85% of clothing we donate ends up in landfills, so she continues to spread awareness of the importance of upcycling and teaching people how to revamp their clothing with simple sewing and a lot of creativity.
